Work overview
At the root of my work is an exploration of what it is to be ecological within a deeply relational, highly complex, multigenerational, multispecies, multicultural world. This root exporation then gives rise to two branches:
The first branch is Ecological Organisations, which recognises organisations as complex, relational, living systems that are deeply interwoven into wider ecosystems and social systems. To support organisations to become more ecological, I authored Ecological Organisations: A Design Lens, released for free as creative commons so that any group, community, or organisation can utilise it for non-commercial purposes.
The second branch is Ecological Enquiry, a practice and way of being that helps us discover the depth of relationality, complexity, and interbeing that informs us as individuals, groups, and organisations. Through its practice, we can learn to be relational members of this multispecies, multigenerational world with more attunement, grace, and response-ability.
I share essays about my enquiries into being ecological in the substack Ecological Us, which also houses the Ecological Us podcast, bringing listeners 'into the room' as small groups explores being ecological through self- and shared-enquiry.
I also founded the Ecological Us Network, a centre point or node from which we can explore different framings and ideas of what it means to be ecological and how the recognition of 'being ecological' affects our thinking, being, and doing as individuals, groups, and organisations.
